671 Washington Street, Clarkesville, GA 30523

Property Description

Built in 1917 and located in the City's historic corridor, this property is one of the select early Craftsman period-style homes built on Washington Street that stands ready for light or heavy renovation to preserve and enhance the character of the early 1900s in Clarkesville. Nine-ft.-plus ceilings with picture frame wall moldings, plaster walls, hardwood flooring and oversized windows are the dominate features of the interior. Central fireplace (currently closed off) highlights the front living room with doorways to kitchen and two bedrooms that share the one bath. The home design includes a front "3rd bedroom" with separate entrance to the "sleeping porch" that was common for the period. From the kitchen, access the back stoop (stairs to ground missing!) or stairs leading to root cellar/crawl space underneath with access to the spacious backyard under shade trees. This property includes a separate .25 acre building lot of record at the back of the lot, and it is also suitable for a re-zoning to Professional (PRO) for business offices (see Clarkesville Building Code for details) that include real estate, insurance, accounting, financial planning and other similar professions. This property offers multiple options for renovation and development for residential and/or business use.
